Dr. Seung Choi
An Aussie Kiwi born in South Korea.
Dr Seung Choi (Sean) graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from University of Otago, New Zealand in 2006. He commenced private practice in Auckland, New Zealand before relocating to Australia in 2008. Initially practicing in Toowoomba for a couple of years he moved to Melbourne in 2010 and has been practicing there before moving to Blackheath.
He has completed the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry (ASID) accreditation program in 2012 and the General Orthodontic Residency program in 2017.
Knowing the importance of continuing education, Sean keeps up to date with scientific based approach to dental care by regularly attending courses/conferences with the latest advances in dental technology and scientific research.
Passionate about providing the best care, Sean will always provide an informed range of options that will allow patients to decide on the treatment plan that suits them best. He is skilled in all aspects of dentistry with his scope of practice extending to a special interest in preventive dentistry, implants, Orthodontics, treatment and management of TMJ and sleep apnoea.
Away from the office, Sean loves spending time with his wife and maltese. He also enjoys travelling and watching movies.
Dr Andrew Wang
Dr. Andrew Wang grew up in Sydney and completed his training in Bendigo, regional Victoria. After graduation he worked in various practices across Sydney before joining us in Blackheath. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry, in particular educating patients on how to take control of their oral health. Outside of dentistry Dr. Andrew enjoys keeping active and discovering new places to eat.
Front office coordinator/Dental assistant
Katie has spent 16 yrs in the Medical Industry including over 10 years as a Nurse and Paramedic in the Full time Australian Army. She has provided patient care in Australia and abroad in an array of clinical settings including Disaster Relief, Trauma, Aged care and Disability. She has settled in Blackheath with her husband and 2 children and draws on her past military experiences and training to adapt to her new interest in the world of Dentistry.
Oral Health Therapist
Audrey graduated from University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Oral Health and is dual qualified as both a Dental Hygienist and an Oral Health Therapist. She has a wide range of experience working with both children and adults in various hospitals across New South Wales. She also volunteers her time to provide oral health education to pre-schools and aged care facilities. Audrey is very approachable and works closely with our dental team to provide periodontal care and maintenance for adult patients, as well as preventative and restorative dental services for children. Her interest lies in working closely with children to ensure they have a comfortable and positive experience when visiting the dental clinic. In her spare time, Audrey enjoys baking and travelling to new places.
Front office coordinator/Dental assistant
Loving the community feel, natural environment and fresh air of the Blue Mountains, Fiona relocated here from Sydney in 1993 to start her family. She has two daughters and one grandson, and recently moved with her younger daughter to Lithgow.
Fiona has worked in several different sectors, including primary school teaching. She has also gained a great deal of experience in customer service over the years.
Fiona enjoys being able to get to know and help our patients, both at front reception and assisting in surgery.
Dr. Peter Douglass
After growing up in a close family on the NSW south coast and completing his secondary education as a boarding student at Chevalier college, Peter moved to the city to attend Sydney University, graduating in 1976 with a degree in dental science.
His dental career began as an associate dentist in a few practices including Cooma, Narrabeen and the UK.
Family and children of his own became part of the picture so PEter then embarked on a solo journey purchasing and running his first dental surgery in country NSW (with a branch practice attached).
Peter preferred his boys to have the benefit of a good education. This brought him to the Blue Mountains, establishing a bus successful practice in Blackheath. Blackheath in itself is a caring friendly community. A village fostering healthy outdoor activities, cafes, restaurant and neighborly families.
Special relationships formed over the many years of caring for the dental health of many wonderful people and their families. children maturing into adults with whole lives of their own ahead.
